Hi.

It's still amazing to me how many hundreds of hours of studio time boil down to about 40 minutes of final music.

This last weekend was really productive.  I have finished all recording and mixing for the following tracks in the main Ceastra Suite, sans mastering:

Intro: Memento Vivere
Ceastra
To Mind
...
Transition
Ceastra Reprise
Outro: Memento Mori

So that leaves basically the middle piece, titled "The Bridge" to be completed.  That WILL happen this weekend.  Oh, and the other three smaller pieces, but I think those will fall in line without much trouble.

It feels like my world is in balance again.  Creative stuff is flowing again, and I can honestly say that working with my hardware and software tools has now pretty much become instinctive and second-nature to me now; and just in time.  I still hope to hit my due date to get his published on CD Baby, iTunes and Amazon next month.  Turns out I will be taking a different path for the album art.  My original plan was just too ambitious, and would need the skills of many additional people to pull off - much more than the album itself (not to mention it would probably take many more weeks and $$$s than I have laying around).  So, we'll see if the alternative is going to work.  Gotta have the full package before publishing!

I've been getting some great comments from the folks I have been slipping bounces and rough mixes to.  That always is nice. It's hard for me to step back and listen totally objectively and without getting caught up in details of the music sometimes, so having good musician friends to bounce things off of is a great help.

One more month until my coming out party.   :-D
